Experience the Hardangerfjord in its quietest and most magical season. Our winter base inNorheimsundis only 80–90 min from Bergen, and from here we take you into Fyksesund, the narrowest and most dramatic fjord arm in the region. Snow-covered peaks, frozen waterfalls, and calm, mirror-like water create a winter landscape that few travellers ever see.
A winter RIB safari is an active fjord experience that brings you closer to nature. Our boats have12 comfortable sadel seats, strong engines, and excellent stability, allowing you to explore remote coves, steep cliffs, and quiet fjord villages safely and comfortably. Winter light and low sun create perfect conditions for photos, wildlife spotting, and peaceful moments on the water.
Winter in the fjord is calm, crisp, and surprisingly accessible. Frozen waterfalls appear along the cliff faces, the mountains turn white, and the water is often completely still. With fewer visitors in the winter season, the fjord feels truly remote — a rare opportunity for those seeking an authentic Norwegian experience.
About RIB Boats
A RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) combines a solid hull with inflatable tubes to provide a smooth, stable ride. This type of boat is ideal for fjord conditions in winter, offering both safety and speed. Our certified local guides share stories from the area and adjust the tour to the day’s weather and light.
