About the package
This winter package combines two different ways to experience the Hardangerfjord from Norheimsund: a 75-minute RIB safari into Fyksesund and a fjord floating session in calm water near Thon Hotel Sandven.
You book both activities together, but they are run as two separate experiences. Between the RIB safari and fjord floating, you have about one hour to enjoy Norheimsund at your own pace. This gives you time for a coffee, snacks, lunch, or a short walk along the waterfront.
The package is designed as an easy winter day trip from Bergen by public bus or car. Norheimsund is the first Hardangerfjord village you reach when travelling from Bergen, and both experiences start close to Thon Hotel Sandven, only a short walk from the main bus stop.
On the RIB safari, we travel from Norheimsund into Fyksesund, one of the most secluded fjord branches in the Hardangerfjord. You experience speed, fresh winter air, steep mountainsides, seasonal waterfalls and guided stops with local stories from our captain.
During the fjord floating session, the pace changes completely. Wearing a dry, insulated immersion suit, you float safely in calm fjord water while our guide stays close. It is quiet, simple and surprisingly memorable — a close encounter with the Hardangerfjord at water level.
Together, the two experiences give you both the energy of a RIB safari and the stillness of fjord floating. It is a strong choice for travellers who want a full winter day by the fjord.
